Armeniaball Provinces

Description

I've gotten a lot better at Polandball over the past year, though I haven't really been posting them on Deviant Art. I was proud of this one though, showing the many provinces (or marz as they're called), as well as Armenia's "lovely" neighbors. So I thought I'd post it. A lot of this I picked up from living in Armenia for 6 months and touring the country. So to explain:

Shirakball is shown pining for the lost Armenian medieval city of Ani, on the Turkish side of the border since the 1920's Treaty of Kars.

Aragatsotnball is shown greeting his neighbor Yazidiball, because there is a big Yazidi minority in that province. The Yazidis are treated well in Armenia.

Armavirball is saying the Lord's prayer in Armenian and dressed in religious garb because that's where the center of the church is located.

Yerevanball is being a bit of a braggart, somewhat how he is seen by the other provinces since most of the wealth (and half of the population) is situated there.

Araratball is pining for Mt. Ararat, again only on the Turkish side of the border since the 1920's.

Kotaykball is shown with a beer (due to having his own brand of beer), and glad he doesn't have to share a border with either Turkey or Azerbaijan.

Gegharkunikball is shown relaxing by Lake Sevan. Many of the tourist resorts are located in that area. Meanwhile to the east we see the exclave of Artvashen being kidnapped by Azerbaijanball, as they took it over during the Nagorno-Karabakh War in the 1990's.

Above that, Tavushball is trying to get some farm work done while being weary of an Azeri sniper aiming at him across the border; this is a big problem in Tavush sadly.

To the west of that is Loriball, the only one with a unique coat of arms (and actually my personal favorite of them, I lived there for two months).

Down south is Vayats Dzorball, drunk off of wine as the oldest winery ever was discovered there.

Below that, Syunikball is gathering pomegranates (this is where my family actually comes from too!)

To the east we have Artsakhball (Nagorno-Karabakh if you will) in a constant stand off with Azerbaijanball; Artsakh declared independence after the fall of the Soviet Union and before that was an autonomous region, but Azerbaijan refuses to just let it go.

Then west of Syunik we have Nakhchivanball, going about his usual daily activities of destroying Armenian artifacts so as to erase evidence that it used to be part of Armenia before the 1920's. This chunk of land was given to Azerbaijan by the Soviet Union and the Armenians who used to live there were chased out. And then we have Turkeyball reminding Armenia of the closed border, and Iranball looking forward to her vacation in Armenia and getting away from her country's draconic laws.

Doesn't the Kurdish region encompass Armenia as well?
